BEAWAN - Indonesian President Joko Widodo stated that the revitalization of houses in a number of regions in Indonesia is one of the government's efforts to create a clean environment for children.

Quoted by Antara, the housing location visited by the President is located in Bagan Deli Village, Medan Belawan District, Medan City has conditions that are often affected by tidal flooding. This visit is one of a series of events attended by the President at the peak of the 29th National Family Day event in 2022 organized by the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).

Residents' houses in the area, mostly built using coastal wood or mangrove wood and supported with high pillars so that high tides do not enter higher by bringing garbage so that it endangers families and residents' property. with diarrhea or skin disease, the man who is familiarly called Jokowi emphasized that the government will immediately arrange the area in the area so that each house can be better arranged and the house becomes habitable.

A total of three houses in the village have been built neatly and seem more worthy to live in.

The improvement in the environment also includes the handling of clean water and proper sanitation for families. The parties given the task are the Medan City Regional Government, the central government and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

"Including village roads, everything will be arranged so that (the family) is healthier, better. We also hope that extreme poverty here can be eradicated, like that," said Jokowi.

In addition to improving sanitation and houses so that they are habitable, the government will also build a pelvic so that the tidal flood problems that have occurred for decades can be resolved properly.

Jokowi added that the creation of a clean environment with a house to become livable, must be realized so that children are free from stunting, as well as achieve one of the targets they set, namely the stunting prevalence rate decreased to 14 percent in 2024.
