Recovery Cases From COVID-19 In North Sulawesi Reaches 50,178 People

MANADO - Residents of North Sulawesi (Sulut) who have been declared cured after being confirmed positive for COVID-19 have reached 50,178 people, Sunday, July 3.

"Currently, the recovery rate for COVID-19 is 97.68 percent," said the Head of the North Sulawesi Provincial Health Office, Dr. Debie KR Kalalo, as reported by ANTARA, Sunday.

Debie added that since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in a province with a population of more than 2.6 million people in mid-March 2022, 51,369 people have been exposed to it.

"There were 1,169 cases of death with a death rate (Case Fatality Rate) of 2.27 percent," she said.

Meanwhile, residents who were treated at referral hospitals or isolated independently reached 22 people or 0.04 percent.

The North Sulawesi Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force, she said, continued to invite the public to work together with the government in controlling the pandemic.

Because of that, she hopes, the public will immediately receive a complete vaccination (first dose and second dose) and booster vaccination (third dose) that have met the criteria, namely a minimum distance of three months from the second dose.

"The awareness of individuals and communities to obey and be disciplined in implementing health protocols with the aim of taking care of themselves, taking care of their families, and taking care of others is fundamental in changing clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) during a pandemic," she said.
