BMKG Detects 33 Hotspots In East Kalimantan

BALIKPAPAN - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) through a station in Balikpapan City detected 33 hot spots spread across six regencies and cities in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Province.

"A total of 33 hot spots have been monitored since Saturday from 01.00 WITA to 24.00 WITA spread across six areas in East Kalimantan," said Class I Station Forecaster Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan BMKG Balikpapan Carolina Meylita Sibarani quoted from Antara, Sunday 3 July.

Other hot spots are located in East Kutai Regency as many as 23 points spread over eight sub-districts, namely in Telen District one point, North Sangatta District two points, Rantau Pulung District 11 points, Muara Wahau District two points, Long Mesaat District one point, Kongbeng one point, Busang one point, and Bengalon district four points.

"Furthermore, six hotspots were detected in Kutai Kartanegara Regency spread across five sub-districts, namely in Muara Badak sub-district two points, then Loa Kulu, Kembang Janggut, Samboja, and Tabang sub-districts each detected one hotspot," said Carolina .
