Residents Can Pray Eid Al-Adha At JIS July 10, DKI Provincial Government Prepares Capacity Of 30 Thousand People

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will hold the Eid al-Adha 1443 Hijri prayer at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on Sunday, July 10. People are welcome to attend and pray together there.

"According to the leadership's direction, Eid prayers are centered at JIS," said Head of UPT Korpri DKI Amirudin in a short message, Friday, July 1.

The committee has prepared a capacity for the congregation for Eid prayers with a capacity of 30 thousand people. This is based on an evaluation of the number of worshipers who attended the Eid 1443 H prayer some time ago.

Prayers will be held on the west ramp and stadium concourse. Amirudin said, the location of the prayer is on the west ramp and a semi-circle on the north side like the last Eid prayer. Prayer starts at 07.00 WIB.

"The estimate is the same as yesterday's Eid," he said.

For information, the government has set 1 Zulhijah 1443 Hijri/2022 AD to fall on Friday, July 1. Thus, the celebration of Eid al-Adha falls on Sunday, July 10 after it was decided through the isbat assembly.

"By consensus, 1 Zulhijah 1443 Hijriah falls on Friday July 1, 2022 AD," said Deputy Minister of Religion Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi.

Zainut said this decision was taken after considering the results of the reckoning of the new moon position and the rukyatul hilal report. Of the 86 points in 34 provinces monitoring the new moon, none of them reported seeing the new moon.

From the results of the presentation by the Unification Team for the Hijri Calendar of the Ministry of Religion, the height of the hilal in all parts of Indonesia is between 0 degrees 52 minutes to 3 degrees 13 minutes with an elongation angle of 4.27 degrees to 4.97 degrees.

While the new MABIMS criteria are used by the government in determining the beginning of the month, the elongation parameter must be at a minimum of 6.4 degrees and the physical disturbance of syafak light (twilight light) which is stated with a minimum altitude parameter of 3 degrees.

Thus, the height of the hilal on Wednesday did not meet the new criteria for MABIMS which became the government's guidelines. "The reckoning is above the horizon but has not fulfilled the MABIMS imkanul rukyat and the hilal report is also not visible," said Zainut.

With the stipulation of Eid al-Adha on July 10, there is a difference with the Central Leadership (PP) Muhammadiyah which states 10 Dzulhijah 1443 H or Eid al-Adha falls on Saturday, July 9 2022, which is stated in the Declaration Number 01/MLM/I.0/E/ 2022 concerning Determination of the Results of Hisab Ramadan, Shawwal, and Zulhijah 1443 H.
