SURABAYA - As many as 53 representatives from the Khilafatul Muslimin Surabaya Raya group held a declaration of Nationality and a statement of loyalty to Pancasila and the Republic of Indonesia at the Surabaya Youth Center. This declaration was witnessed directly by Forpimda Surabaya and East Java.

"This is a declaration event for our brothers from the Khilafatul Muslimin to be loyal to Pancasila and the Republic of Indonesia," said East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta, Thursday, June 30.

In the declaration, there are five points that describe the recognition of the Khilafatul Muslimin towards Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution as the basis of the Republic of Indonesia. In addition, the Khilafatul Muslims stated that they would not be anti-Pancasila and were determined to live side by side with all levels of society in harmony, and uphold the principle of Bhineka Tunggal Ika.

After the declaration, the Khilafatul Muslimin group also signed the five-point declaration. Besides Nico, this was also witnessed by the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, the Head of Surabaya Police, Kombes Akhmad Yusep Gunawan, and the Chairman of the Surabaya DPRD, Adi Sutarwiyono.

Chairman of the Surabaya City MUI KH Abdul Muchid Murtadho, Chairman of PCNU Surabaya Achmad Mubirin Zuhri, Chairman of Muhammadiyah Surabaya DPP Hamri Al Jauhary, and Chairman of Surabaya FKUB Muhammad Yasit.

Based on the research results of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT), Khilafatul Muslimin Ummul Quro is classified in the category of an intolerance organization because the understanding it adheres to is contrary to the Pancasila ideology.

"Deliberation and consensus have been carried out. We have wrapped all these differences in the Pancasila ideology and tied it with a ribbon that reads Bhineka Tunggal Ika, that is something that has been agreed upon by our nation," he said.

Nico said that currently the number of the Khilafatul Muslimin congregation in East Java is around 70 people. "Regarding how many member data there are, I think there are but not many. From 41 thousand we detected around 0.002 percent to around 70," he said.

Meanwhile, when confirmed regarding the permit for the distribution of Khilafatul Muslimin attributes, Nico said that he was still coordinating with the National Police Headquarters and the Attorney General's Office. "It's still being coordinated and waiting for the court's decision. We'll just have to wait," he said.
