KSP Confirms That The Issuance Of The SE Handling COVID-19 Is Proof That The Pandemic Is Not Over

Jakarta - The Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office Abraham Wirotomo said, the issuance of the Circular Letter (SE) of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force on Health Protocols for the Implementation of Large-Scale Activities during a Pandemic Period, gave confirmation to regional heads that the pandemic was not over yet.

According to Abraham, the application of strict health protocols to activities that are physically attended on a large scale is solely to control the spread of COVID19.

"To support economic recovery, we must control the spread of COVID. This is the spirit of the issuance of the SE," said Abraham, at the Bina Graha building, Jakarta, Thursday, June 23.

Abraham said that the Presidential Staff Office had heard recommendations from experts and health workers regarding efforts to improve the discipline of health protocols and the achievement of booster vaccines in dealing with new subvariants.

The government, doctors, health workers, WHO and various experts, he said, have often reminded him of the importance of booster vaccines.

"Even the President does not tire of reminding him. We hope that the public will not be indifferent," he said.

Abraham also revealed that the Presidential Staff Office received various proposals to encourage the acceleration of booster vaccines. One of them is the possibility of no longer providing free hospital treatment for those exposed to COVID-19 if they have not taken the second and booster doses of vaccines.

"We are studying the proposal," he said.

For information, the issuance of SE Number 20 of 2022 follows up on the dynamics of the situation of the spread of the COVID-19 virus, as well as the recovery of the national economy, namely by reopening large-scale productive and safe community activities for COVID-19.

What is meant by large-scale activities are a series of activities in international or national scale events that can physically invite more than 1,000 people at a certain time, as well as in the same location and/or involve state representatives.

One of the legal basis for the issuance of the SE was the result of the decision of the Limited Meeting held on June 13, 2022.
