JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) assesses that the digitization of the justice system through the Information Technology-based Integrated Criminal Justice System (SPPT-TI) will be a game changer for a better direction in eradicating corruption.

Deputy V Presidential Chief of Staff Jaleswari Pramodhawardani in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 22, explained that the SPPT-TI was created to ensure interoperability or data exchange between law enforcement officers in handling criminal cases, whether general crimes, child crimes, narcotics crimes, and corruption crimes. .

"The expansion of the application of this system is expected to be a game changer in system reform and law enforcement that is free of corruption, accountable and reliable," said Jaleswari.

SPPT-TI is the electronic exchange of criminal case data between four law enforcement agencies, namely the Indonesian Police, the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, the courts, and the Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

The data exchanged includes the identity of the suspect, trial schedule, court decision, detention history and others. In addition, SPPT-TI has changed the process of handling cases, which are currently mostly based on physical documents, so that they can then run digitally in a secure network system.

"This shows the strong commitment of the government of President Joko Widodo - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in eradicating corruption," said Jaleswari.

The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) and as many as 10 related ministries/non-ministerial institutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the implementation of SPPT-TI at the Supreme Court, Jakarta.

This information technology-based system utilizes the Data Exchange Center (Puskarda) network which is securely encrypted in the Intra-Government Secured Network (IGSN). The IGSN network itself is provided and managed by KSP.

"The implementation of SPPT-TI is in accordance with the President's direction to strengthen the corruption eradication system, because corruption is an extraordinary crime and anyone who does it is an enemy of the state. All levels of government, especially law enforcement officers, must uphold their commitment to eradicating corruption," added Jaleswari.

Furthermore, the government is committed to expanding the development and implementation of SPPT-TI which currently only covers more than 200 work units in law enforcement agencies throughout Indonesia with a total data received by Puskarda of 826 thousand data exchanged until 2021.
