Police Are Looking For The M16 Long-barreled Firearm Used By The Perpetrators Of The Shooting Of Farmers In Aceh Besar To Death

BANDA ACEH - Investigators from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Police are still looking for the M16 type long-barreled firearm used by the perpetrators to shoot two farmers in Aceh Besar District to death.

The Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Police, Commissioner Winardy, said that based on the confession of the shooter, the weapon was hidden around the crime scene.

"Personnel of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Police have arrested the suspected perpetrator with the initials FR alias MU alias SC (38). FR is the executor or suspected perpetrator who shot the victim. FR shot the victim using an M16 weapon", said Commissioner Winardy, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 20.

Previously, two residents of Aceh Besar, namely Ridwan (38) and Maimun (38) were victims of shootings when they returned from their garden in Aneuk Glee Village, Indrapuri District, Aceh Besar Regency, Thursday, May 12 night. Both died while being treated at the hospital.

Before arresting FR alias MU, the Joint Team of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Police had arrested another suspected perpetrator, namely AW alias TW, who was suspected of planning, giving orders, and funding the shooting.

Next, TM acts as a logistics planner and supplier. DW acts as an information provider and logistics supplier, and MZ, ZD, and MY all three act as executor companions and field monitors. All of the alleged perpetrators are residents of Aceh Besar District.

Commissioner Winardy said the alleged perpetrator FR alias MU alias SC was arrested in his parents' village in Gampong Pinto Rimba, Peudada District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh, on Thursday, June 16.

"To the officers, FR admitted that the firearm was obtained from the alleged perpetrator AW. AW is suspected to be an intellectual actor or the alleged mastermind behind the shooting. FR admitted to working with AW at his wood factory", he said.

Investigators have been looking for a long-barreled firearm hidden around the crime scene (TKP). However, the weapon used to shoot the two farmers was not found.

"Investigators are still studying the statements of the perpetrators. The information given is always changing. This shooting is purely criminal because the perpetrator's efforts were disturbed by the victim", he explained.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 338 in conjunction with Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning Murder and Premeditated Murder. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and the death penalty.

"We urge the public not to speculate regarding the shooting. From the results of the investigation, the shooting is not related to any particular group, it is purely a criminal act of revenge between the perpetrator and the victim", he said.
