Note! In The Near Future There Will Be No More Localization Of Mount Antang, The East Jakarta City Government And PT KAI Have Agreed

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) has finally agreed with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) as the land owner to control the building in Gunung Antang, East Jakarta.

The localization area which is included in two sub-districts, namely Matraman District and Jatinegara District, will be demolished in the near future.

East Jakarta City Administration Assistant, Eka Darmawan said that there had been results from the meeting held by the two agencies.

"There has been (an agreement), only the stages need to be passed," said Eka to reporters, Thursday, June 16.

The agreement came after the East Jakarta City Government held a meeting with PT KAI at the East Jakarta Mayor's Office, Thursday, June 16.

The stages in question, said Eka, are in the form of a letter from PT KAI as the land owner and holding a technical coordination meeting on enforcement which will be held later.

"A letter from PT KAI as the land owner, and a technical coordination meeting," he said.

However, the East Jakarta City Government is still waiting for PT KAI to fulfill these stages so that it can finally control the Gunung Antang localization.

It is known, the Gunung Antang localization stands on the edge of the railroad that connects Jatinegara Station and Manggarai Station.

The illegal building was used as a place for prostitution and gambling which disturbed local residents.

Recently, the plan to control the localization of Mount Antang has been widely heard because of the attack carried out by a group of suspected thugs from the localization in the RW 01 settlement, Rawa Bunga Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

The attacks took place on Sunday, June 12 and Monday, June 13 in the early hours of the morning. The gang of suspected thugs attacked using sharp weapons, stones, and suspected firearms.

In fact, in the incident on Sunday morning, four people were injured and one house was damaged in the glass due to stone throwing.

Of the four victims, three victims namely SA, RMR, and SU reported the case to the police. SA has made a report to the East Jakarta Metro Police and is registered with the number LP/B/1274/VI/2022/SPKT/ POLRES METRO JAKARTA TIMUR/ POLDA METRO JAYA.
