JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government (East Jakarta City Government) "flicked" PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) for not maintaining the vacant land assets in Gunung Antang, Jatinegara, so that some parties misuse it as a localization area.

East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar said the existence of this localization had an impact on social problems that could harm the community around the area.

"Don't let such facilities look like they are not being maintained, so they end up being prone to fights, and so on," said Muhammad Anwar quoting Antara, Wednesday, June 15.

Anwar said that the East Jakarta City Government had curbed illegal buildings that were often used as places for prostitution and gambling in Mount Antang.

However, this effort was not effective because the perpetrators in the Gunung Antang localization were not deterred and continued to carry out activities due to the lack of firmness from the land owner.

"That's why the land is guarded, right? It's his land. I have to protect PT KAI's land, I take care of my land, I guard my garden, I guard my office, it must be guarded," said Anwar.

Furthermore, Anwar said the East Jakarta City Government and PT KAI would discuss the plan to control localization in Gunung Antang.

"Whenever it is ready, we just need to coordinate, yesterday I coordinated with the Chief of Police, with the Dandim, with the Kejari, as well as the court. In principle, they all support being ready, we just need to invite the KAI, and ask, what will they do after the enforcement and what will they do? what program, if not, then it will continue to happen," said Anwar.

Meanwhile, PT KAI is coordinating with the East Jakarta City Government regarding the plan to control localization in the Gunung Antang area.

"Yes, the control program will be carried out with the City Government and the authorities are currently in the coordination stage," said Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakatrta Eva Chairunisa.

Previously, a group of armed people suspected of being from the Gunung Antang area attacked residents on Jalan Kemuning, RT 05/01, Rawa Bunga Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta on Sunday, June 12, night.

As a result of the attack, a number of residents suffered bruising from blunt objects and two others were injured by sharp weapons.

Several houses were also damaged by the attack. Even a number of witnesses also found objects suspected of being projectile bullets from one of the stalls that were damaged by the perpetrators.
