JAKARTA - The Ternate Basarnas Search and Rescue Office, North Maluku (Malut) conducted a search for KM Firli, a fishing boat carrying 10 people, which was reported to have sunk in the waters of Rua Kota Ternate on Sunday, May 22, at around 10:10 eastern Indonesia time.

The head of the Ternate Basarnas, Muhammad Arafah quoting Antara, said Captain KM Firli, the ship sank about 8 miles from the coast and is currently being carried out rescuing the victims.

Arafah added, after receiving the report, at 10.22 eastern Indonesia time, the Ternate Basarnas Rescue Team moved to the scene using RIB 02 Ternate to carry out SAR operations.

In addition, the Bacan South Halmahera SAR Unit Team managed to save a fisherman named Muhamad Ritno (38) who suffered damage to his raft house on the rompon in the waters of Kukupang island.
