Minister Of Communication And Information Johnny G Plate Calls NU A Great Contribution To Indonesia And The World

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information (Kominfo) Johnny G Plate emphasized that building Nahdlatul Ulema (NU) is the same as building Indonesia.

"Building NU to build Indonesia, NU advancing Indonesia advancing," said Johnny at the opening of the NU Grand Conference in Jakarta, Friday, May 20 evening.

He said, it was undeniable that NU made a big contribution to the Indonesian nation and to the world.

"This contribution has been made since the era of the struggle against colonialism," he said, quoted by Antara.

The Minister of Communication and Informatics believes that all the big minds, big ideas and big souls in NU are none other than Indonesia, which is great, glorious, plural, one, and Indonesia that is in diversity.

"Hopefully the NU (Big) Conference will produce big ideas, for the sake of the glory of NU, NU citizens and the Indonesian nation," he said, hoping.

Johnny emphasized that in Indonesia, the people are the people under the management of religious leaders, while those brought to the government are the same people.

"I believe positive things can be achieved if the government and major religious organizations work together, collaborate and synergize," he said, affirming.

At the moment of the big conference, the Nahdlatul Ulema Executive Board (PBNU) and the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) collaborated to accelerate digital transformation.

The cooperation was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the sidelines of the NU Grand Conference in Jakarta, Friday night.

The general chairman of Nahdlatul Ulema Executive Board (PBNU) Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya said the cooperation was very strategic because it involved the governance of the NU jami'yah association, particularly information technology, as the backbone of the organization's operations.

"Because the scale of the activity will be so large, there is no other way so that it can run well, it must be accompanied by technological innovation," he said.
