PDI-P Mocks Coalition Too Early, PAN: KIB Becomes Momentum For Presidential Election Preparation Not Decided Injury Time

JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) responded to the PDI-P's insinuation that the formation of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) towards 2024 was too early.

PAN Vice-President Viva Yoga Mauladi assessed that KIB is an approach by political parties so that cooperation does not occur at the end of time. According to Viva, having an agreement from the start will make it easier for political parties to plan a coalition platform in the context of Indonesia's vision and the government's future.

"KIB has actually become a good momentum to traditionalize coalitions or merge political parties in preparing for the 2024 presidential election. The injury time, last minute decision has not been decided," said Viva, Friday, May 20.

Viva guarantees that the United Indonesia Coalition will not interfere with the running of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf government because the two political party leaders who are the initiators are ministers. Namely, Airlangga Hartarto and Suharso Monoarfa.

According to Viva, the three chairmen from Golkar, PAN and PPP who are members of the KIB will be responsible for improving the performance of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin government.

"The United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) is guaranteed not to interfere with government performance because Pak Airlangga (Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs) and Pak Suharso (Minister of PPN/Head of National Development Planning Agency) are the presidential ministers. In fact, KIB is responsible for improving government performance because KIB is part of the Jokowi government and Ma'ruf Amin," he said.

Viva said each political party has the right to conduct an assessment. In addition, efforts to establish coalitions are also guaranteed by Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.

"The creative efforts of each political party to PDKT each other, approach each other, fall in love with each other, and agree to go to the political altar are basic rights of political parties, which are certainly guaranteed by the 1945 Constitution and clarified in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. ," he concluded.
