Believing That Airlangga Will Become A Presidential Candidate From KIB, Golkar Politician: Isn't It The Biggest Party In The Coalition?

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party believes that their general chairman, Airlangga Hartarto, will become a presidential candidate supported by the United Indonesia Coalition. The reason is, in the coalition that was initiated with PAN and PPP, Golkar was the biggest vote winner in the 2019 general election.

"Golkar is the largest party in the coalition. That's important," said Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP, Ace Hasan Syadzily at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 18.

However, the chairman of the West Java Golkar DPD revealed that until now the United Indonesia Coalition has not discussed the person who will be promoted as a presidential candidate in 2024. Because Ace said, the coalition is still discussing a common vision and mission. Meanwhile, the question of determining the figures for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates is still considered far away.

"We are still discussing the political ideas, what platform, what vision, and how the winning strategy will be jointly promoted by each political party," he said.

Ace is optimistic that the three political parties, namely Golkar, PAN and PPP, are both solid until the start of registration for the 2024 presidential candidates. "We are very confident, because after all, we cannot build this nation alone. Therefore, we must believe that this coalition will be able to last until 2024, " he concluded.
