BANJARMASIN - The Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) of the South Kalimantan Police took action at a fisherman's general fuel filling station (SPBUN) in Tanah Bumbu Regency for selling subsidized diesel fuel above the highest retail price (HET).

Kasubdit Gakkum Ditpolairud South Kalimantan Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant M Isharyadi in Banjarmasin, Wednesday, May 18, said sales at the TPI Batulicin SPBUN charge a price of IDR 6,250 for one liter of subsidized diesel. In fact, subsidized diesel fuel for fishermen has been regulated through the HET of IDR 5,150 per liter. This means that there is a difference of IDR 1,100 for every sale of one liter of subsidized diesel.

"An individual SPBUN employee with the initials AF has been named a suspect and is now being detained for further investigation," he said, quoted by Antara.

In addition to detaining the suspect, the police confiscated evidence in the form of 300 liters of subsidized diesel fuel sold by the SPBUN located not far from the Batulicin Fish Auction Place (TPI) in Sejahtera Village, Simpang Empat District, Tanah Bumbu Regency.

Isharyadi said that the suspect AF was charged with criminal offenses under Article 55 of Indonesian Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, Amendments to Indonesian Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas.

The criminal threat if proven guilty in court is imprisonment for a maximum of 6 years and a maximum fine of IDR 60 billion.

Currently, the police are still continuing to develop cases to be able to reveal all parties who are indicated to be involved in the unlawful activity of selling subsidized diesel.

"The sale of subsidized fuel by the government should not burden the people, everything must be according to the rules that have been set," said Isharyadi representing the Dirpolairud of the South Kalimantan Police, Grand Commissioner Pol. Takdir Mattanete.
