Vice President Ma'ruf Attends The Groundbreaking For The Construction Of A Smelter Industrial Estate In North Konawe

KENDARI - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin is scheduled to make a working visit to North Konawe Regency (Konut), Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra), on May 19-20, 2022.

North Konawe Regional Secretary Kasim Pagala said the working visit of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin was in the context of laying the first stone for the construction of a smelter industrial area located in Motui District.

"I represent the Regent and Deputy Regent together with the Konut Police Chief and his staff, the liaison officer for Kodim 1417/Kendari, the Head of the State Intelligence Service (BIN) Konut Post, Basarnas, and the Local Government Working Unit (SKPD) Konut have visited the location of the arrival of the Vice President of Indonesia and his entourage," said Kasim Pagala in a statement received in Kendari, Antara, Tuesday, May 17.

The establishment of a smelter industrial area in Motui Konawe Utara was carried out by PT. Nusantara Industri Sejati (PT.NIS) in collaboration with the Regional Government (Pemda) of Konut under the coordination of the Provincial and Central Governments.

The construction of the PT NIS smelter industrial area was built on an area of 4.766 hectares. 375 hectares of which have been released by the company, while compensation payments are made in stages.

Regional Secretary Konut Kasim Pagala added that the development of the smelter industrial area is an effort by the regional government to advance the wheels of the regional economy. In addition, it opens job opportunities for the community, especially the local people of North Konawe.
