JAKARTA - The government is committed to continuing to support persons with disabilities to be productive and to realize equal rights. In terms of regulation, the Government has also regulated this in Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities.

The momentum of the G20 Presidency this year was also used by Indonesia to push the issue of disability as a cross-sectoral issue and invite the world to think about and build a disability ecosystem that makes people with disabilities more productive.

On various occasions, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that people with disabilities are a group that can become an engine of economic productivity if given equal opportunities and wide space for expression.

As a form of support, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto received a visit from the Friends of the MotreT Community (Banten Disability Photography Team) at the Ali Wardhana Building, Jakarta, last Thursday 12 May.

On that occasion the MotreT Friends Community practiced their photography skills by conducting a photo shoot for Coordinating Minister Airlangga in one of the work rooms. Furthermore, Coordinating Minister Airlangga also invited the MotreT Friends Community to practice their skills by taking photos in the environment around the Ali Wardhana Building.

"The government in all its economic policies is inclusive of people with disabilities, so of course the economic sector through MSMEs is given special and special facilities for people with disabilities. For the education sector and the vocational training sector, this is also being pushed by the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of Industry," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga after receiving the visit.

For your information, Komunitas Teman MotreT (Banten Disability Photography Team) is a photographer community initiated by its founders to prove that the creativity of people with disabilities also keeps up with the developments and advancements of the current technological era.
