South Sumatra Governor Forms Cooking Oil Monitoring Task Force

PALEMBANG - South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru formed a task force team to monitor the availability of cooking oil for the community at an affordable price and a smooth supply.

"This team will tackle the problem of scarcity of cooking oil in South Sumatra," said Herman Deru in Palembang as reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 27.

Herman Deru said the South Sumatra Provincial Government had coordinated with various parties to ensure that the demand for cooking oil could be met.

"In any case, I ask that this can be fulfilled, because the total bulk oil production in South Sumatra is around 1,320 tons per day," he said.

Meanwhile, the need for cooking oil in South Sumatra is only around 130 tons per day.

Therefore, the governor and related parties have agreed that this matter can be allocated properly.

The Governor of South Sumatra has formed a task force involving all elements, namely the Police, TNI and the Attorney General's Office.

Deru said that the decree to be made would be in effect for three months and was tasked with detecting shortages of cooking oil.

If fraud is found, we will act according to applicable law.

In addition, according to Deru, his party will also ensure that the selling price of cooking oil starts from producers, distributors, agents to consumers who buy in the market according to the Highest Retail Price of Rp. 14,000 per liter or Rp. 15,500 per kilogram.

"The main obstacle is between distributors and agents, it could be because of the distance traveled, there could also be a delay in delivery to the manufacturer. I've told you if you need to borrow army and police cars if it's really needed," he said.
