Cianjur DPRD Encourages Central Government To Realize Peak Route II

CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency DPRD, West Java, has encouraged the central government to realize the construction of the Puncak II route as a solution to improve the economy in the area, especially regarding the number of tourist visits.

The chairman of the Cianjur Regency DPRD, Ganjar Ramadhan said that the construction of the Puncak II route as a solution to traffic jams on the Puncak route had developed a dozen years ago, due to the high number of tourist visits to the Cianjur area, but until now it has not materialized.

"We ask the central government to help with the construction of the Puncak II route, not only as a solution to traffic jams, but also as a solution to improve the economy in Cianjur, which is declining because the number of visits is no longer high and businessmen have difficulty fulfilling orders," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, 10 March.

He explained that during field activities to the northern region of Cianjur, to be precise in the sub-districts of Pacet, Cipanas and Sukaresmi, where there are many tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants, many complained that they only got traffic jams, not increased visits.

This includes flower cultivators and vegetable farmers who find it difficult to fulfill orders for goods to Jabodetabek, Bandung and other areas, because vehicles transporting goods are stuck in traffic jams. Not infrequently they lose money even though they have left early but are still stuck in traffic on the Puncak-Bogor route.

"Hopefully this year, the Cianjur people's dream will get an answer from the central government by building the Puncak II route. We will also coordinate with the Indonesian House of Representatives to participate in encouraging the development as soon as possible," said the Gerindra Party politician.

Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman said his party had written to the relevant ministry, to immediately build the Puncak II route as a solution to traffic jams on the Puncak route. To realize this dream, the Cianjur Regency Government has built 14 kilometers of concrete roads, to support the construction of the Puncak II route.

"We have built a concrete road as a support for the Puncak II route, including the Bogor Regency Government, we have already built a supporting route. Only central support is needed to build the main route, so there is no longer a long distance due to traffic jams to get to Cianjur," he said.
