JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has accelerated the completion of the construction of permanent housing (huntap) for communities affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru in Lumajang Regency, East Java.

"The construction of special shelter houses is one of the government's efforts to restore the post-disaster damage from the eruption of Mount Semeru in Lumajang Regency, East Java, which occurred in December 2021. The Huntap built is a type 36 house and will be used to relocate residents affected by the eruption from seven villages in Lumajang Regency, namely Sumbersari Village, North Kebondeli Village, South Kebondeli Village, Koboan Curah Village, Gumukmas Village, Kamarkajang Village, and Kajar Kuning Village.

In addition to temporary shelter buildings, the relocation area will also be equipped with other facilities to accommodate the daily activities of residents, such as public facilities, mosques, schools, sports facilities, fields, green open spaces (RTH) and markets, and burial sites.
