JAKARTA - The Education and Teacher Association (P2G) urges DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to stop the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM) with 100 percent capacity.

Because, currently there are 90 schools recorded that have cases of COVID-19. PTM in dozens of schools was temporarily closed and some have run PTM again.

For this condition, the National Coordinator of P2G Satriwan Salim emphasized that his party urged Anies to change the PTM mechanism to a capacity of 50 percent of students in order to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

"We ask Mr. Anies to return it to the Limited PTM scheme of 50 percent. With the Blended Learning method, some students study from home, and some from school," said Satriwan in his statement,

Satriwan considers that the limited 50 percent PTM method is still quite effective in preventing learning loss as well as life loss. Moreover, he said, teachers and students in the capital city have experience using the limited 50 percent PTM scheme with the mixed method.

In addition, teachers and students on average already have electronic devices to support distance learning, good internet signal, and relatively no problems from the digital infrastructure aspect.

"P2G hopes that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will not underestimate this condition, nor wait for the third wave of COVID-19 cases to peak," he said.

For information, so far there are 90 schools that temporarily suspended PTM 100 percent due to case findings. The majority of the schools that were closed were in East Jakarta, with a total of 42 schools.

Furthermore, the termination of PTM in South Jakarta has 31 schools, West Jakarta 9 schools, Central Jakarta 5 schools, and North Jakarta 3 schools.

Meanwhile, the findings of COVID-19 cases in schools are currently 135 cases. In details, 120 students were exposed to the corona virus, 9 teachers, and 6 educators.

Most of the schools that had been closed have now returned to holding 100 percent PTM. As many as 23 schools are still stopping PTM.
