JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir highly appreciates the role of teachers and honorary teachers in the progress of the Indonesian nation. According to him, teachers are education fighters who continue to work even though there are still many things that need to be improved from the government.

"I thank you for the struggle of the teachers who have been ensuring that education is the key to success, and of course, as a minister, I entrust them, parents are the struggle even though we have many shortcomings from the government," he said.
A total of 3,638 honorary teachers received savings from BNI as a form of appreciation for their dedication to educating the nation's children.
This honorary teacher starts from Kindergarten (TK), Elementary School (SD), Junior High School (SMP), and High School (SMA). This program also includes honorary teachers from both public and private schools with a total budget allocation of IDR 18.19 billion.
The honorary teachers who received this appreciation came from the 3T area in 22 provinces throughout Indonesia who teach Kindergarten (TK), Elementary School, Junior High School (SMP), and High School (SMA) levels, both public and private schools.
"But with today's efforts, hopefully, we can at least fix the concerns of parents who feel deprived," he continued.
Erick Thohir asked BNI to help honorary teachers who are over 50 years old, but still serve as teachers in the 3T area.
Erick said that the honorary teachers are part of 3 awareness programs whose implementation is currently being pushed by the Ministry of SOEs in the use of CSR.
The three programs are concern for education, empowerment of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and the environment.
