JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that currently 28 schools have returned to holding face-to-face learning (PTM) with 100 percent student capacity.

Previously, dozens of these schools were closed due to the findings of COVID-19 cases. The school was closed for five days.

"So during the PTM, 43 schools have been temporarily suspended. Today, 28 schools have finished stopping the PTM. Only 15 schools are still closed," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Wednesday, January 19.

Of the 43 schools that were temporarily closed, there were 67 students, 2 teachers, and 3 education staff who were exposed to COVID-19.

Riza admitted that the DKI Provincial Government has not been able to determine the cause of the emergence of COVID-19 cases that infect school residents as long as PTM is 100 percent running.

However, they are most likely to catch the corona while outside of school. Because, so far, on average, not many cases are found in one school.

"From the data, the school averages 1 to 2 cases. This means that transmission does not occur at schools, but at home or on trips," said Riza.

Separately, the Head of Public Relations of the DKI Education Office, Taga Radja Gah, said that the DKI Provincial Government has not been able to stop PTM 100 percent.

Because, he said, to stop PTM 100 percent his party referred to the Joint Decree (SKB) of the 4 Ministers. He said that 100 percent PTM could only be terminated if the PPKM Jakarta status changed to level 4.

"To reduce or stop it, we basically use a 4 Ministerial Decree. This means that when PPKM goes up to Level 3, there will be a change in PTM, there are 50 percent 4 hours of learning and then learning like that," he said.
