TANGERANG SELATAN - Mayor of South Tangerang, Benyamin Davnie admitted that in his area there was an increase in cases of COVID-19, the Omicron variant. He said the number of people exposed had increased by two patients, bringing the total to 7 people.

“There are now seven confirmed cases of Omicron. There are reports, there are two additional cases," Benyamin told reporters, Tuesday, January 18.

Benyamin also said the case came from the local transmission. He emphasized that the Omicron patient was not a foreign traveler (PPLN). This was proven by whole genome sequencing (WGS).

"It's a local transmission," he explained.
