Response To Reports On Alleged Corruption BPSDM Ministry Of Law And Human Rights, Commission III DPR: Crimes Must Be Legally Resolved

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR Habiburokhman said his party would examine data from the alleged corruption of the COVID-19 budget at the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) worth Rp. 5.64 billion.

"We'll see what the data looks like," said Habiburokhman at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, January 17.

The Gerindra politician said that if it was true that there was an element of corruption in the case, then the Corruption Eradication Commission had to investigate thoroughly.

"Criminal acts of corruption, of course, must be resolved in a legal context," said Habiburokhman.

Previously, the Executive Director of the Indonesian Club, Gigih Guntoro, revealed allegations of corruption in the COVID-19 Handling Fund, including the Procurement of Counterfeit Drugs and Multivitamins.

The allegation arose because the drugs and multivitamins did not meet the BPOM specifications. The program period intended for these employees runs from April to June 2021 with a value of IDR 5,644,450,000.

"It should be suspected that there was involvement of officials at BPSDM. Indications of counterfeiting of drugs and multivitamins occur because there is no conformity with the BPOM code, type of label, no expiration date, brand and form of packaging. This practice is clearly not only detrimental to the health of employees but also to the state's finances," he said in a written statement.
