General Andika Perkasa Asks for Suspect Brigadier General YAK and Director of GSH in Case of Alleged Misappropriation of TWP AD, Processed Quickly

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa received an audience with the Junior Attorney General for Military Crimes (Jampidmil) to discuss the alleged misuse of Army Housing Compulsory Savings (TWP AD) funds involving a Brigadier General of the TNI.

During the hearing, Jampidmil Rear Admiral TNI Anwar Saadi explained the ongoing legal process. As is known, one of the suspects is from the TNI institution, namely the TWP AD Finance Director with the rank of Brigadier General with the initials YAK. Meanwhile, one more suspect is a civilian with the position of President Director of PT Griya Sari Harta (GSH).

"We report that as the investigation team is connected, for suspected TNI soldiers being investigated by Puspomad, for civilian suspects who we just determined yesterday were already in detention, the prosecutor's office is investigating. Likewise, at the prosecution stage, we will coordinate with the Consulate General of the TNI to apply for personnel who have professionalism in the prosecution to join the Prosecutor in the prosecution team for connectivity,” said Rear Admiral TNI Anwar Saadi, quoted from General TNI Andika Perkasa's YouTube broadcast, Saturday, January 15.

Responding to the report, General TNI Andika Perkasa will take serious action on cases that harm TNI institutions.

“I want to be fast, but it has to be precise, not for too long. Because there's nothing to wait for. But I also don't want to rush so I'm not careful. The same is also a tremendous loss. And that shouldn't happen again, it's a lesson learned. But if I look at the demands, I think it's good. We are the institutions that are given the authority to enforce the law. How can we be trusted if we ourselves are not accountable." said General Andika.

Previously, it was reported that the Attorney General's Deputy Attorney General for Military Crimes (JAMPidmil) of the Attorney General's Office named two suspects in the alleged corruption case of the Army Housing Compulsory Savings Account (TWP AD) for the 2013-2020 period.

The two suspects are the TNI Brigadier General (Brigjen) with the initials YAK, as the TWP AD Finance Director since March 2019, and NPP, as the President Director of PT Griya Sari Harta (GSH).

"Against the two suspects, Brigadier General YAK has been detained at the TNI AD Military Police Central Military Detention Center since July 22, 2021, until now," said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak at a press conference quoted by Antara, Friday, December 10.

Meanwhile, the NPP suspect has been detained starting today, December 10, 2021, for the next 20 days at the Salemba State Detention Center (Rutan) of the Attorney General's Office Branch.

Leonard revealed that in this case the suspect YAK is believed to have issued Rp127.7 billion from the TWP AD account to his personal account for his personal interests.

"Suspect YAK transferred the money to suspect NPP's account under the pretext of procuring housing lots for TNI soldiers," said Leonard.

Meanwhile, the NPP suspect is believed to have received the transfer money from YAK and used it for his personal and corporate interests, namely PT GSH.
