SAMARINDA - Positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan have added 13 cases. Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by two.

Spokesman for the East Kalimantan COVID-19 Task Force, Andi Muhammad Ishak, said ten additional positive cases occurred in Berau and three other cases in East Kutai.

Meanwhile, two additional recovered cases occurred in North Panajam Paser.

"Previously Berau had the status of a COVID-19 green zone, and now with the addition of new positive cases, it has shifted to the yellow zone," said Andi Muhammad Ishak in Samarinda, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 13.

Andi said that currently only three regions in East Kalimantan still maintain the COVID-19 green zone, namely Mahakam Ulu Regency, North Panajam Paser and Bontang City.

Meanwhile, seven other East Kalimantan regions are in yellow zone status, namely Berau, West Kutai, East Kutai, Kutai Kartanegara, Paser, Samarinda City and Balikpapan.

"For COVID-19 patients who are still undergoing treatment, there are 36 people," said Andi.

The patients, continued Andi, were spread in 10 people in Berau, 9 people in Balikpapan, 6 people in West Kutai, 5 people in Samarinda, 4 people in East Kutai, 1 person in Kutai Kartanegara and 1 person in Paser.

"The accumulation of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan is 158,377 cases, 152,887 cases have been declared cured, while 5,452 cases have died," added Andi Muhammad Ishak.
