JAKARTA - A series of accidents involving two trucks and a motor vehicle occurred on the ring road of Salatiga City, Central Java, Monday, January 3 this morning. One person was reported to have died in this deadly incident.

Salatiga Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant of Police Indra Mardiana said the accident allegedly started with a tanker truck numbered L 8736 AK which was traveling from Solo to Semarang on the Salatiga City ring road in the Sidomukti area.

"It is suspected that the tanker truck had a problem with its brake function when it approached the intersection around the incident location," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, January 3 afternoon.

The tanker truck that was speeding out of control then hit a container truck and a motorbike. The tanker truck continued to drive until it finally hit a car and a motorcycle that was stopped at a crossroads because of red light.

The Yamaha Mio driver who stopped at the crossroads died in the unfortunate incident. In addition to the dead victims, there were two other injured victims who were immediately rushed to the Salatiga Hospital.

Officers who received the incident report immediately went to the scene to evacuate the victim and the vehicle involved in the accident.
