JAKARTA – The New Normal cafe on Jalan Raya Tengah RW 012 Gedong, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta was closed by Satpol PP officers for violating health protocols (prokes), after holding a viewing together (nobar) the AFF Cup final.

"The police line was closed (installed) by the Pasar Rebo Police last night because of the massive crowd," said East Jakarta Satpol PP Head Budhy Novian when confirmed by reporters, Thursday, December 30.

Budhy said operational activities at the cafe were temporarily suspended pending the police investigation.

"(The cafe) is closed until the investigation process by the (Pasar Rebo) Police is complete," he said.

Budhy further explained that his staff also carried out inspections at a number of cafes holding the 2020 AFF Cup finals. However, his party did not find any violations of health protocols other than the cafe on Jalan Raya Tengah.

"There are cafes that have been investigated, but the crowds are not massive, so we are advised to stay on the process," he said.

Previously, the Indonesian national team had to acknowledge the superiority of the Thailand national team in the first leg of the AFF Cup final at the National Stadium Singapore, Wednesday, December 29 yesterday. Garuda's squad was defeated by a score of 0-4.
