JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received the Anugerah Bakti Utama Pusaka award as the originator of the birth of the Indonesian Heritage City Network (JKPI) while serving as Mayor of Solo in 2018.

The Anugerah Bakti Utama Pusaka award was handed over by the Head of the JKPI Presidium, namely the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, at the Bogor Palace, Saturday, December 4, marking the closing of the 5th JPKI Congress attended by 38 regional heads and a number of other regional representatives in his city.

Bima Arya, who had just been elected as Chair of the JKPI Presidium 2021-2024 in the 5th congress, came to the Bogor Palace to carry out the congress mandate to give the award to President Jokowi.

During the handover, Bima Arya was accompanied by a number of JKPI figures after carrying out a city tour in the core series of the JKPI Congress which took place on December 2-4, 2021.

The city tour was carried out by some members of the congress to remember the preserved heritages in the city of Bogor in accordance with the spirit of President Joko Widodo in establishing JKPI for regions throughout Indonesia.

The two city tour places, namely the Suryakencana area around Plaza Bogor which is famous for its culinary delights, there is also the Dhanagun Vihara which has become a separate sight in the middle of the market.

The Suryakencana area is included in the list of city tours of the 5th JKPI Congress because it is a symbol of the plurality center of the Bogor community and the legend of community activities in terms of culinary and trade which is being revitalized into a tourist spot.

The second location is the Batutulis Inscription on Batutulis Street, Bondongan Village, South Bogor District, as a historical site of the Pakuan Pajajaran Kingdom since 500 years ago.

Batutulis is a historical heritage inscription that is meaningful, not only for the City of Bogor but for Bogor Regency and its surroundings.

After the tour, Bima Arya took a special time to meet President Jokowi with the aim of handing over the Bakti Utama Pusaka award, as a tribute to his services in establishing JKPI which is aggressively caring for and campaigning for the importance of preserving heritage objects and areas in the region.

Bima wore a black t-shirt with the JKPI logo while still wearing the typical Sundanese "Totopong" headband and jeans, which was accepted by President Jokowi, who wore his trademark white shirt and black pants.

"The congress also gives awards to figures who are considered meritorious for heritage cities in its programs in Indonesia, one of which is Mr. Jokowi who was the founder of JKPI when he was the mayor of Solo," said Bima Arya.
