Minister Of Health Reprimands Mall Management Association For Declining Use Of PeduliLindungi

JAKARTA - Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the level of discipline of the number of managers of shopping centers or malls in Jakarta towards the use of the PeduliLindungi application is decreasing.

"In this (room, red) the discipline of health protocols has begun to decline. We will push again with the help of the regional police and military commanders to discipline this," he said while speaking at the Ganesha Policy Podcast Ep.1: "BGS, When is COVID-19 End?" quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 1.

The Minister of Health had reprimanded the mall management association regarding the decrease in discipline in using the PeduliLindungi application for consumers who came to shopping centers in Jakarta.

"Yesterday I showed the mall association the data (PeduliLindungi, ed.), here is the data, this is a mall in Jakarta that admits 20,000 people a day, there are malls in Jakarta that are big only five people enter a day. Of course, he didn't test this," he said.

Budi admitted that he did not hesitate to publish mall visit data through the website for the public to know. The manager immediately responded to the threat by improving their discipline on the use of the PeduliLindungi application.

He said the current digital technology allowed him to directly monitor the level of visits at various public facilities.

"We will again encourage the application made by ITB children, called PeduliLindungi to check the arrival of people. I can already see it 'online'," he said.

Budi said that for application users who did not show improvement in discipline, the Ministry of Health would involve the TNI-Polri to take firm action.

"If there are only two people reporting PeduliLindungi tomorrow, I know this is not disciplined, I will order them to raid," he said.

PeduliLindungi is a COVID-19 tracking application that is officially used for digital contact tracing in Indonesia. This application was developed by the Ministry of Communication and Information in collaboration with the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of SOEs.
