SOLO - Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka finally fulfilled his promise to meet Papuan students studying in Solo. Gibran entertained them and took the time to talk casually about their daily activities and activities.

The meeting of Gibran and the Papuan students was actually an old promise. During a social service (baksos) in the form of distributing food packages and mass circumcision at the Surakarta City Hall last October, Gibran suddenly approached one of the vaccine participants from Papua.

Gibran then asked for the phone number in question and invited him to lunch. Gibran wants to know more about the Papuan youths in the city of Solo. Well, this November, Gibran's promise has been realized.

As reported from Gibran's official Instagram @gibran_rakabuming, this gathering took place on Monday, November 29 yesterday at Bale Tawangarum. Before starting, one of the youth representatives wore a hat decorated with bird feathers for Gibran to wear.

Gibran did not hesitate to lower his head to wear the hat. After wearing it, Gibran went around from table to table to say hello, asking about the activities of the youths who came from various universities in the city of Solo.

Andreas, one of the students who attended the gathering said he was happy to be invited and stay in touch with Gibran.

"Happy to be sitting with the Mayor, we Papuan students appreciate it, (living) in Solo is also very comfortable. His happiness cannot be expressed in words," Andreas said as quoted from the Surakarta news Youtube channel, Tuesday, November 30.

Andreas admitted that the people of Solo are friendly and do not discriminate between Papuan students when they come to study. This is what makes Andreas and his friends feel at home in Solo.

"Solo is comfortable, the people are also friendly, not arrogant, it doesn't differentiate us from where," said Andreas.
