JAKARTA - Currently, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the use of technology devices is increasingly inseparable from student learning activities. This is in line with the implementation of distance learning (PJJ).

Head of Data and Information Center of Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Muhamad Hasan Chabibie, revealed in the future, teaching and learning activities with a combination of distance learning (PJJ) and face-to-face learning (PTM) or hybrid learning will continue to be applied.

"We strongly believe that technology is increasingly inseparable from our education world. In the future, the ideal approach (in teaching and learning activities) is hybrid learning. This is a teaching and learning process that combines face-to-face and maximum use of technology", said Hasan in a virtual discussion, Friday, November 26.

Hasan said distance learning (PJJ) which has been implemented for more than 1.5 years brings a new culture to the learning process, namely utilizing technology as much as possible to avoid face-to-face meetings.

Until finally, the limited PTM came into effect from the beginning of the new academic year 2021/2022, along with the condition of teachers and education staff who had received the COVID-29 vaccination.

Hasan considers that the new culture that was formed during yesterday's distance learning (PJJ) process by using technological devices can be combined with the face-to-face learning process that will be carried out later.

"Each one has advantages. Face-to-face has advantages in the process, for example, character building, how we grow the affective or psychomotor traits of students", said Hasan.

"But digital also makes it easier for us to communicate remotely, or prepare for more varied digital learning. We can do that with technology. Well, we believe that combination or hybrid learning will be able to further improve the quality of teaching and learning in us", he added.
