JAKARTA - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) encourages random tests to be carried out to prevent school clusters.

"The Ministry of Education and Technology is working with the Ministry of Health and the COVID-19 Task Force to increase randomized testing in schools," said Acting Head of the Ministry of Education and Culture's Public Relations and Cooperation Bureau, Anang Ristanto, in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, November 24.

Random tests are carried out to prevent transmission or school clusters. In addition, efforts are also needed to monitor the implementation of health protocols in schools.

SehatQ's Head of Partnership, Arie Senta, said that his party fully supports random testing to prevent school clusters. In addition, he fully supports the government's decision to reduce the price of PCR which is increasingly affordable for the wider community.

“We believe the government has considered various things before deciding to carry out a price reduction. Therefore, we welcome the government's plan to reduce the price of PCR tests to support the acceleration of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in increasing the number of PCR tests to strengthen the tracking and testing mechanism according to the procedures issued by WHO," said Arie.

Currently, he continued, the price of PCR tests at startups engaged in the health sector is in accordance with the rules set by the government, which is between Rp465,000-Rp495,000. Of course, it also takes into account a reasonable profit margin.

"With the new price-fixing by the government, SehatQ will also adjust the price by taking into account a reasonable margin, so that it can continue to support the government and the community through the implementation of this PCR test," he explained.

A decrease in the price of PCR tests by the government will have an impact on a decrease in the price of antigen tests. Currently, the price of the antigen swab test service is around Rp60,000 to Rp99,000.

"We are aware that we are part of the Indonesian people who are both struggling to get out of the pressure of this pandemic. For that, we will always support government policies," Arie added.
