MATARAM - A pickpocket syndicate from Jakarta was arrested by the police while in action at the 2021 World Superbike (WSBK) racing area at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Artanto, revealed that the action of this pickpocket syndicate was successfully revealed thanks to the cooperation between the police team and the community.

"From yesterday's WSBK security activity, four perpetrators consisting of one man and three women were caught stealing cellphones belonging to spectators in the Tosca green ticket stands," said Artanto during a press conference at the NTB Police, Mataram, as reported by Antara, Tuesday. , November 23.

This action is thought to have been premeditated. The police, continued Artanto, secured a number of evidences in the form of four cellphones, namely one iPhone brand and three Samsung brands.

"They got stuff in action on Sunday," he said.

Meanwhile, Director General of the NTB Police, Kombes Hari Brata, explained that three of the four perpetrators had family relations. They are DC (45) who is the husband of LA (41), along with their daughter with the initials DA (24).

"For AW (34), this woman is their neighbor in Jakarta," said Hari.

Furthermore, Hari said the action of the pickpocket syndicate was revealed from the active surveillance of police officers in the stands.

"So initially one of the perpetrators was caught red-handed by members wearing 'plain-clothes' which we spread in the stands. So one was caught at the TKP (standby stands), the other was caught at Lembar Harbor," he said.
