JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria asked the workers and workers in the capital city to understand the increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP) DKI in 2022 by 0.85 percent.

In this case, the increase in the DKI UMP next year is not in accordance with the demands of the workers who have voiced their aspirations several times in front of the DKI City Hall

Riza said that the DKI Provincial Government set the UMP in 2022 in accordance with existing regulations, namely Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages.

"In accordance with the existing regulation (UU) on job creation, so we are adjusting to existing regulations," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 22.

Riza admitted that the current COVID-19 pandemic has not only had an impact on the economic condition of the workers, but also on entrepreneurs.

However, this Gerindra Party politician hopes that the determination of the UMP in the following year can increase according to the expectations of the workers.

"Hopefully in the future, we can improve again. We will improve again according to our expectations," said Riza.

"We, the provincial government, certainly want and are very happy if the UMP is getting better, higher in accordance with the expectations of the workers. This means that the economy in Jakarta is getting better," he added.

For information, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has set the DKI Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) for 2022. In its calculation, the wages of workers have increased by 0.85 percent or around IDR 37 thousand to IDR 4.453.935.

The determination of this year's UMP is said to be in accordance with the provisions of the laws and regulations which are the reference for all regions of Indonesia.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the amount of the UMP was based on the provisions of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and the formula contained in Article 26 and Article 27 of Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages that apply to workers/laborers with less working period of 1 (one) year.
