JAKARTA - Purwakarta Regency in West Java Province still has to implement Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) because the COVID-19 vaccination coverage for the elderly population in the region is still relatively low.

In the adolescent group, the first dose of vaccination was only carried out on 6.085 people or 5.92 percent of the total target of 102.715 people, and the second dose of vaccination was only carried out on 5.264 people or 5.12 percent of the target.

According to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs, the district/city PPKM level can drop from level 3 to level 2 if the total coverage of the first dose of vaccination is at least 50 percent of the target and the coverage of the first dose of vaccination in the elderly population is at least 40 percent of the target.

Purwakarta Regent Anne Ratna Mustika said that the local government continues to try to control the transmission of COVID-19, including intensifying vaccinations. He said that currently there are no sub-districts in Purwakarta that are in the red zone or zone of high risk of transmission.
