Wolves Vs Everton, Benitez: We Are Missing A Player Who Can Make A Difference

JAKARTA - Rafa Benitez could not hide his disappointment after watching Everton lose another Premier League game on Monday night. This is the third consecutive loss for The Toffees.

Everton started the game really badly and found themselves 2-0 down after just 32 minutes. Alex Iwobi pulled one back for Everton in the second half, but the home side held on for the win.

"It's a shame because we didn't play as well as we should in the first half. We had a lot of chances in the second half, maybe a little too late," Benitez said after the game.

"It was the reaction we expected but it's a shame we didn't do it in the first half."

In this match, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Yerry Mina, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Andre Gomes are all absent. In fact, Everton need to rise after the previous week being slaughtered by Watford 5-2 at home.

"I think we were close (with a positive result), but lost some players who could make a difference," said Rafa.

"This team is growing in confidence. We have to see what we did in the second half for 90 minutes. Obviously we didn't and that's where we have to improve.

"We saw the characters in the second half to react after a bad first half."

Furthermore, this weekend, Everton will host Tottenham Hotspur who have just recruited Antonio Conte as head coach to replace Nuno Espirito Santo.

"I think if our players came back we would be much better off and would do the same as we did in the second half," said the former Liverpool and Real Madrid coach.

"Tottenham are a very good team and with the new manager I'm sure they will show a commitment to show that they are good players.

"(But) this is the Premier League. I'm pretty sure we will do better."
