JCI Closed Of Eid Al-Adha Holiday, Gaining 0.75 Percent To 5,149.63

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) was able to end up in the green zone. JCI on Thursday, July 30, closed up 0.75 percent or 38.51 points to the level of 5,149.63.

Closing the trade, 165 stocks rose, 262 shares fell, and 155 shares were stagnant. Trading volume was recorded at 10.40 billion shares and transacted at Rp9.43 trillion.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gusta Utama, said the market highly appreciates the Fed's move to maintain the benchmark interest rate at 0.25 percent in order to protect the US economy from a downturn.

"On the other hand, the market really appreciates the development of the COVID-19 vaccine which is increasingly positive," Nafan told VOI.

This afternoon, stocks in the top gainers ranks, including PT Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk (WIIM) which rose 12.68 percent to Rp320, PT Indofarma Tbk (INAF) which rose 8.06 percent to Rp2,280, and PT Kapuas Prima Coal Tbk (ZINC) which strengthened 7.35 percent to IDR146.

Meanwhile, stocks in the top losers include PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk, which fell 6.87 percent to Rp610, PT Maybank Indonesia Tbk (BNII) which fell 6.60 percent to Rp198, and PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN ) which weakened 6.54 percent to Rp143.
