There Are No Provincial-level Perseroangan Bapaslon That Have Passed The 2020 Pilkada

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia has completed the stages of calculating the amount of support for improvements to prospective candidates for individual or independent regional heads in the 2020 Pilkada.

As a result, no individual candidate pairs (bapaslon) at the provincial level, namely the governor and deputy governor who had passed.

KPU commissioner Hasyim Asyari said that initially there were two individual chaplones at the provincial level, namely the candidate pairs for the Governor and Deputy Governor of West Sumatra and North Kalimantan. They have given up support and a spread of voters who will support them.

"Thus, the documents of support for individual candidates that are administratively verified and proceed to the factual verification stage are as many as 2 candidate pairs for governor and deputy governor candidates," said Hashim in a written statement, Thursday, July 30.

After the KPU conducted factual verification, it turned out that the two prospective candidate pairs for governor and deputy governor were declared not meeting the requirements for the minimum amount of support and distribution.

Then, the KPU gave a repair time from 25 to 27 July 2020. However, the two chaplones did not do this. So that both were declared null and void.

"As of the last day of delivery of repair support, the candidate pairs for Governor and Deputy Governor of West Sumatra and North Kalimantan have not submitted repair support," said Arief.

There are only 73 prospective pairs of candidates at the district / city level who meet the requirements for the lack of repair support until 28 July.

"The next stage is that the Provincial KPU and Regency / Municipal KPU will carry out administrative verification of repair support until August 4, 2020," said Hasyim.
