Iwan Bule Ensures There Is No Practice Of Transferring Players To The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - The senior national team and U-19 will undergo training camp (TC) in Jakarta, 23 July-8 August. PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan emphasized that the choice of players is fully the right of coach Shin Tae-yong.

"Everything is determined by Shin Tae-yong because we leave it entirely to him," said Iriawan to Antara, Thursday, July 30.

The man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule ensures that there is no practice of entrusting players to become part of the Indonesian national team. Included in the summoning of Indonesian descent players who played abroad such as Elkan William Tio Baggot who played in Ipswich Town, England.

"There is no entrusting it. In fact I cannot interfere," he stressed.

The senior national team and the Indonesian U-19 team gathered in Jakarta last week. The national team should have undergone its inaugural training camp at the Senayan Madya Stadium, Jakarta, last Saturday, but it had to be postponed to Saturday. TC activities are organized according to strict health protocols.

There are 29 senior national team players and 46 U-19 national team players who were summoned by the South Korean national team coach.

For the TC senior Indonesian national team, this is done in preparation for the last three matches of the 2022 Group G World Cup qualification for the Asian Zone, namely challenging the hosts Thailand, October 8, hosting the United Arab Emirates, October 13 and traveling to Vietnam on November 12.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian U-19 national team will compete in the 2020 U-19 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan, 14-31 October. The Garuda Muda national team is in Group A with the hosts Uzbekistan, Cambodia and Iran.
