Bravo TNI-Polri! KKB Beats Back, Successfully Controls Bilogai Airport In Intan Jaya Papua

PAPUA - Security forces who have joined the Nemangkawi Task Force since Friday, October 29, have again taken control of Bilogai Airport, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua.

"It's true that since Friday night, Bilogai Airport has been controlled by the TNI-Polri after previously armed criminal groups (KKB) had occupied it, causing no civil flights to serve routes to the area," said the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Papua Police, Kombes Faizal Rahmadani, in Jayapura, Papua was reported by Antara, Saturday, October 30.

He said that currently the airport is safe to land because members of the TNI-police are already on standby around the airport.

"The Papuan Regional Police will also add two platoons of personnel to Intan Jaya to strengthen the area," he said.

He said that currently residents are taking refuge in two locations, namely the church and the police station. The details of the number of refugees are not yet known.

When asked about the incident on the burning incident of the Airnav Office at Bilogai Airport, last Friday, the commander of the Nemangkawi Law Enforcement Task Force admitted that there was a misinformation.

The place that was burned was not the airport's Airnav Office, but the generator house, Rian's kiosk and two vehicles including ambulances around the airport.

Previously, the Commander of Kodim 1705/Nabire, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Anjuanda Pardosi, on Friday night, stated that there had been a shootout between them and armed gangs around Sugapa District but there were no casualties.
