BMKG Predicts Rain And Strong Winds To Hit Most Of Areas In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) detected weather disturbances that have the potential to trigger rain clouds with strong winds evenly in almost all parts of Indonesia on Saturday.

Reported by Antara from the www.bmkg.go.id page, several regions of Indonesia have now entered the rainy season covering the western part of Indonesia, the central part, as well as the eastern part of Indonesia.

Forecasts of wind convergence or confluence areas are found along the islands of Sumatra, Java, southern Kalimantan, central Sulawesi, and in the Papua region as well as Nusa Tenggara.

The area has the potential for an increase in rain cloud growth activity which the public needs to be aware of during weekend activities.

The BMKG informed that a number of areas have the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds that are predicted to hit most of Sumatra, Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and East Kalimantan.

A similar situation has the potential to occur in North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku and Papua.

In addition, areas that have the potential to rain accompanied by lightning or thunder and strong winds are Bali, South Sulawesi, and West Papua.

Thunderstorms are predicted to hit a number of major cities in Indonesia, including Banda Aceh, Bengkulu, Jambi, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Pangkal Pinang, Mataram and Medan.

The situation was light to moderate rain in Denpasar, Serang, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Gorontalo, Bandung, Semarang, Palangkaraya, Samarinda, Tanjung Pinang, Ternate, Kupang, Pekan Baru, Mamuju, Makasar, Kendari, Manado, Padang and Palembang.

Cloudy and sunny weather conditions are in Surabaya, Tarakan, Badr Lampung, Jayapura, and Manokwari.

The temperature situation in big cities is on average 20 to 35 degrees Celsius with humidity levels ranging from 55 to 100 percent.

Jakarta is raining during the day and night

"Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in East Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta and Central Jakarta, in the afternoon and evening," said a warning quoted from the bmkg.go.id page, Saturday.

Details of the Jakarta weather forecast on Saturday, with light to moderate intensity raining throughout Jakarta and the Thousand Islands in the afternoon.

Rainy weather is forecasted to last until Saturday evening and early Sunday in all areas of Jakarta, except for South Jakarta and the Thousand Islands, which are predicted to be cloudy.

The average air temperature in Jakarta on Saturday is estimated to be in the normal range between 23 to 32 degrees Celsius, and the humidity level will fluctuate in the range of 70 percent to 100 percent.
