Chaotic! Garuda Indonesia Workers Union Collects Fees Of IDR 500,000 Per Month To Pilots, Peter Gontha: There Are 1,500 People, Decades Of Money Where Does The Money Go?

JAKARTA - Former Commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk Peter F. Gontha questioned the attitude of the unions who are members of the Garuda Pilots Association (APG) who charge up to half a million rupiah for each cockpit crew.

Peter's open attitude was expressed through the @petergontha Instagram page quoted by the editor on Friday, October 29.

"Each Garuda cockpit crew must pay a fee ranging from Rp. 200,000 per month to Rp. 500,000 per month," he said.

Like an open secret, the Java Jazz boss even indicated that the withdrawal of money had been going on for quite a while and without any clarity on the use of the funds.

"It's been decades. Just count if there are 1000-1500 Garuda pilots, how many? Where's the money?" he said.

Therefore, Peter encouraged credible financial audit institutions to step in to fix all of Garuda Indonesia's ulcers, which one by one began to emerge.

"It should be audited," he asserted.

Recently, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) decided to rent a Garuda Indonesia Boeing 777-300ER aircraft instead of using a presidential plane to travel abroad in the next few days.

The Palace claims that the selection of chartered aircraft is more efficient because it has a longer distance. In addition, there is no need for transit in several places that require the implementation of health protocols. Thus, the quality of security and safety of the Head of State and his entourage is guaranteed.

For three dollars, the Garuda Indonesia Boeing 777-300ER fleet is also in grounded status, aka not flying due to the limited opening of operational routes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
