Menaker Asks Companies To Prepare COVID-19 K3 Officers At Workplace

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah asked all companies to prepare Health and Safety (K3) COVID-19 officers to optimize the prevention of the spread of the corona virus in the workplace.

"This COVID-19 K3 officer is expected to be at the forefront of suppressing the spread of the corona virus. The goal is to keep us productive and safe from COVID-19," said the Menaker as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 29.

According to him, the COVID-19 pandemic is not only a health problem, but also has an impact on the social and economic sector, including the labor sector.

This impact in the manpower sector can affect the sustainability of the business so that it can interfere with production and productivity, and may even cause business activities to cease which leads to termination of employment.

Ida reminded that in order for the health protocol to be implemented properly, employers and workers should as much as possible implement a clean and healthy lifestyle by making it a living culture.

"Don't bring a mask for fear of being punished with a fine. You have to be an addict, you have to bring a mask. Let's love ourselves and love others by taking care of ourselves so that the spread of COVID-19 does not occur," he said.

Ida also encourages entrepreneurs to implement the Healthy Workers Movement in their company environment. This movement aims to help workers adapt to new habits so that they are able to create a productive and safe industrial world from COVID-19.

"Through the Healthy Workers Movement, it is hoped that workers / laborers will be safe, healthy, and productive and companies can maintain productivity and be adaptive to new habitual conditions," he said.
