Wrong Vaccination Data Input, Riau Islands Return To PPKM Level 2 From Level 1

TANJUNGPINANG - Governor Ansar Ahmad said the difference in vaccination data at the central and regional levels resulted in the Riau Islands Province (Kepri) returning to PPKM level two after being at level one.

According to him, only Tanjungpinang City and Batam City are at level one. While the other five districts are at level two and level three.

Governor Ansar in Tanjungpinang, said that in general the Riau Islands' capacity was already at a good level in achieving vaccination.

It's just that the vaccination for the elderly is slightly different, for the daily assessment of the vaccination achievement of the elderly, it is required that at least 60 percent of the first dose has been achieved.

"The Riau Islands, based on the data we have inputted, have reached that number, it's just that the data inputted at the Ministry of Health is different. So, the daily COVID-19 assessment reports in Riau Islands have decreased," said Governor Ansar, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 29.

He regretted that because of the report on vaccination achievements for the elderly, there was a very striking data difference between the real data in the field and what was inputted at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes).

With the difference in the data, he continued, the results of the daily assessment in Riau Islands experienced a decrease in level

Based on the daily records of the Riau Islands COVID-19 Task Force, the achievement of vaccination for the elderly in Riau Islands for dose one has reached 65.61 percent, and for dose two it has reached 46.66 percent.

"This figure is clearly sufficient or is included in level one, but at the Ministry of Health, based on the data they input, the elderly vaccination achievement in Riau Islands is only 52 percent. As a result, based on the results of the assessment, our status has changed again," said the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

He appreciated the Director General of the Ministry of Health who had gone to the field to do data matching one by one.

"We hope that later there will be a meeting point, why this can happen," said Ansar.

The governor reiterated that vaccination achievements are part of the central government's criteria for issuing COVID-19 level assessments in each region.

The governor hopes that there will be a solution soon, so that the economic recovery program, one of which is through the opening of the travel bubble program which will soon be launched, will not experience any more problems.

"Let's just pray together, hopefully we will stay at level one so that the rules that we have relaxed can be maintained. That way the economy can recover, along with the recovery of our public health," said the Governor.

The Riau Islands Provincial Government is currently intensifying the vaccination process for the elderly. This is closely related to the central government regulation which stipulates the minimum vaccination for the elderly in each region, which must reach 60 percent to get better daily assessment results.
