PALEMBANG - Hotels and restaurants in Palembang and a number of other areas of South Sumatra have started installing scanners, QR Codes for the PeduliLindung application at entrances. This installation is to ensure that visitors have been vaccinated to anticipate the spread of COVID-19.
"According to the announcement with the COVID-19 Task Force, starting today, all hotels and restaurants that are members of the PHRI have installed the Peduli Protect application scanner," said Sumselm Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Herlan Aspiudin in Palembang, Antara, Friday, October 29.
With the PeduliLindung application, visitors can also be traced who contacted them, including knowing whether or not someone has been vaccinated against COVID-19.
He explained, based on the notice of the COVID-19 Task Force, all people who come to the public service room are required to scan the QR Code for the PeduliLindung application.
The QR Code tool is installed at the entrance of hotels and restaurants. If it is detected that visitors have not received a COVID-19 vaccination, they are not allowed to enter and are advised to immediately get vaccinated at the nearest health facility (Puskesmas, hospitals), outlets or mass vaccination service places.
With the provision that it is mandatory to pass the screening through the PeduliLindung application, it is hoped that the prevention of corona virus transmission can be maximized.
"In addition to continuing to apply strict health protocols in hotels and restaurants, the PeduliLindung application scanner is expected to provide maximum protection to hotel and restaurant visitors from the risk of contracting COVID-19," said Herlan.
South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto initiated the installation of the 'QR Code' for the PeduliLindung application in the public service room, Directorate of Traffic in the Jalan POM IX area, Palembang Campus, last Thursday.
According to the Kapolda, the PeduliLindung application can be traced to any visitors who contact if a positive case is found in a public service place and to find out if someone has or has not been vaccinated against COVID-19.
All people who come to public service rooms are required to scan the PeduliLindung application's QR Code.
The QR Code tool is installed at every entrance to public service rooms in the ranks of the South Sumatra Regional Police and also at malls, hotels, and the Samsat where motor vehicle tax payments are paid.
For people who will access public services, they must have been injected with the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, for those who have not been vaccinated, they can ask for help from officers at vaccination booths in public service units such as the Ditlantas Polda Sumsel.
