Monday, Members Of Parliament Suspected Child Abuse Reported To MKD, Parents Of Victims Also Present
JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Etos Indonesia Institute Iskandarsyah said that his party together with the parents and legal representatives of the victims will report members of the DPR who are suspected of committing sexual abuse of minors to the House of Representatives Honorary Court (MKD) on Monday, November 1.
"Hopefully the victim's parents will be able to come together with me and my legal counsel on Monday to report this to the DPR MKD. Because this is a process, there is a mechanism," Iskandarsyah told reporters, Friday, October 29. The plan, said Iskandarsyah, will report to the DPR MKD at 10:00 WIB. He said that this report was due to the support for the victim's parents to report it.
"The plan is around 10, 11 am. I will make this report, the LPSK's parents ask to be picked up as well to be protected. Because until today there has been a lot of pressure from his parents and grandmother," he said. Iskandarsyah said his party would go to the DPR's ethics board with the victim's attorney, Gangan. In fact, he admitted that he had made an appointment with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, regarding this report.
"Yes, with a legal representative, because the attorney receives power from the family. If I only help, "he said.
"I have an appointment with Mr. Dasco on Monday at 10 and 11," continued Iskandarsyah.
However, Iskandarsyah did not want to divulge the name of the DPR member. He also did not confirm the initials MM from the DPR PAN faction. Previously, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period was reported to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police for allegedly committing sexual abuse of minors. This case has been reported by the victim's attorney.
"The alleged criminal act of obscene acts against minors. Not sexual harassment," said the victim's attorney, Gangan when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, October 27.
When further confirmed, Gangan was reluctant to reveal the initials of the DPR RI member or which faction the alleged perpetrator of the molestation was from.
