Presenting The Horror Genre, Rich Indonesia Shows Musical "Mother"
JAKARTA - Indonesia Kaya again presents their latest musical production entitled IBU. This musical will be different from the previous titles because of the horror genre.
MOM tells of Atikah, a woman who was abandoned by her mother one second after giving birth. Her mother's departure made Atikah and her father, Pieter distant, and Atikah was mostly cared for by her Aunt and Aunt's son, Soma.
One day, there was a man named Surya who wanted to protect Pieter's plantation but on the other hand had other plans.
Produced by Titien Wattimena, IBU is played by a number of famous stars such as Andrea Miranda (Atikah), Morgan Oey (Surya), Nino Prabowo (Soma), Sita Nursanti (Auntie), and Chandra Satria (Pieter).
"When we saw Indonesia Kaya with the #NontonTeaterDiRumahAja program, we thought of working together and presenting the musical IBU by combining theater and film," said Titien Wattimena at a virtual press conference on Thursday, October 28.
They also deliberately chose early November so that the Halloween atmosphere can still be felt and can be seen by the audience.
IBU not only has a family genre but also elements of horror that will be felt through this story. The atmosphere of this musical is darkened by using traditional West Javanese music.
"Hopefully it can motivate other artists to continue their creative process even in the midst of limitations during the pandemic," said Billy Gamaliel as Program Manager for Indonesia Kaya.
The IBU musical can be watched at www.indonesiakaya.com on November 4, 2021 at 19.00 WIB. You can watch by paying Rp. 99,900 including meet and greet sessions via zoom and 5-6 November 2021 at a price of Rp. 66,600 at 19.00 and 20.30 WIB.
