Making Trouble In The Community, 72 Pencak Silat Members Perpetrators Of Violence In East Java Arrested By The Police
SURABAYA - A total of 72 members of a martial arts college in East Java who were perpetrators of violence were finally arrested by the police. Violence by the perpetrators against the community occurred in eight areas in East Java during September-October.
"This violent act is very troubling to the public. The members of this martial arts college carried out their actions during a convoy after being ratified as members of pencak silat," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, at the East Java Police Headquarters, Surabaya, Thursday, October 28.
Gatot said there were a total of 22 reports from the public regarding acts of violence in eight areas in East Java. Namely, there were five reports at the District Police of Lamongan, Gresik and Jombang with two reports each, Malang City, Kediri City, Blitar City one report each, and Nganjuk eight reports.
Meanwhile, of the 72 perpetrators of violence, 53 of them were adults, and the remaining 19 were minors. The details are the Lamongan Police Station 13 adults and three children, the Jombang Police Station six adults.
Then, the Kediri City Police are two adults, the Gresik Police are one adult, the Nganjuk Police are 24 adults and 10 children, the Malang Police are four adults and one child, the Blitar Police are two adults and the Bojonegoro Police are five children.
"Those who commit violence together against people or goods in public, during convoys on the road after carrying out routine training activities and ratification activities," he said.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning the crime of collectively committing violence against people or goods.
For suspects who are minors, referring to the provisions in Article 19 and Article 32 of Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System, there is no detention of Child Suspects/ABH.
